Let’s talk about glue!

After much experimenting, and cost I think I have reached a point where I have got different glues doing the right things for me.

I tried, PVA, hairspray and various branded glues for holding design elements in place while working up a piece.

Some dried too quick, some left a residue, PVA went lumpy and stringy.

I now think I have a great product for this and I have found it to be multi use, so read on!

I use it as a glue, I thin it and put it in a little spray bottle for setting powder, I use it as a medium for my powder enamels, a thinner for screen enamels, and as the binder when I freeze and fuse.

I’ve just discovered that if I mix it with mica powder and paint it on to the surface of glass you get a lovely sheen from the mica, it doesn’t burn off, great for water and sky!!

It safe as it’s a food product, which is great news too, and so reasonably priced.

If you want to try it I’ve put some in my Supply Shop!

I must admit to using tiny spots of superglue for small, intricate tricky pieces, and so far it has completely disappeared when fired!
